One of the greatest attributes of a well-trained, certified coach is perfecting the working abilities of people’s thoughts. Psychologists coined the term “meta-cognition,” which in Greek, means “beyond comprehension.” In other words, Coaching is helping people go further than their current level of thought for an even greater outcome.
To be truthful, for most of us, to be aware of and in control of our thought processes is often difficult, but it’s one of the most valuable gifts an empowering and wise coach offers. To effectively increase people’s thoughts requires processing skills, first by listening, then moving toward asking precise and open-ended questions.
With asking the right questions, clients and employees are able to analyze, monitor and then assess themselves for correct thinking in order to implement their own winning game plan.
Wow! Imagine a world where people are accessing healthier levels of thought processing and imagine you being their coach making that happen.
Enroll in our next ICF Coaching course and become that artful coach helping the world by promoting healthier thought leaders.

One of my favorite motivational gurus Zig Ziglar once revealed his formula for being successful. It is this: first help enough other people be successful. Though I love being in the growth profession I didn’t fully understand how that worked when I first heard it. Then I discovered that the majority of my best clients, students, and associates came from my helping someone else first. Your commitment to helping others will not go unnoticed, but remember, this is not about you. Your own genuine passion for life and your desire to helping others grow will become exposed and success will be its outcome. How can you fall in love with helping others? Here’s a recommendation, three steps that will get you started: learn the coaching language, the coaching skillset, and with that build partnerships for success. Take our upcoming Foundations For Coach Leadership course to discover ways that you can help others be successful, and open new ways to become successful yourself in our CORE Certification course.

Many people live under the idea ‘don’t make waves’ – don’t upset the balance and still waters. But sometimes making waves brings new ideas and new horizons. Some summers ago I met with a fifteen year old boy upset about going to summer school to catch up on some failed grades. Recently, I ran into him, now in college. I asked him about that particular summer and he let me know that he needed that kick at that time in his life, and it opened doors for his future. It broadened his horizons. To him, that summer disturbed the calm surface and made waves. Those waves brought him to new places. Perhaps it’s time to start disturbing the calm surfaces in your life and start making waves for your professional growth. Could our own version of summer school be the wave you need? Envision yourself as a coach and/or an entrepreneur, or maybe you can bring coaching into your workplace. Let your first step be our Foundations For Coach Leadership course and see what new horizons you can find.

The early days of searching to make my imprint on life started with a stint in the U.S. Marines, finishing graduate school, and spending a bit of time in the corporate world. However, I was still clueless, and had no sense of purpose. In my distress I adapted a thinking pattern that helped. It was: “Do what you love and the money will follow”, “above all, to thine own self be true”, and “follow your bliss”. I’m humbled and amazed how my life unfolded with a revamped philosophy of life. I never imagined that this September I would be celebrating 15 years of entrepreneurship, having trained over 2,000 new professional leaders and coaches. And last month I was in Spain walking a 200 mile pilgrimage, a dream and goal of mine that I’d had for 10 years. My encouragement as you’re reading this is to make a decision to live life blissfully.
Knowing your bliss is a wonderful thing, however there is a danger in knowing and that is in not following it. Experiencing bliss is a magnified innate state of fulfillment and heightened joy. It’s an assurance of belonging and it is never boring. It feels ever new and expansive. To know requires a process of soul searching and discovery where your happiness, sense of meaning, and truth converge. I believe the best leaders, teachers, coaches and Influencers of people are those that sought adventure and followed their bliss. Could becoming a certified professional coach help you to help others embrace their bliss? Check out our next coaching program and do some soul searching of your own.

I don’t know about you, but for me, life always seems to be better at the beach. Try travelling to the same stretch of beach time after time, what you’ll discover is it’s never the same. The sands are washed away and shifted with the constant sweep of the tide and the waves. In the grand scheme of things, a day is an incredibly short amount of time, so the face of the beach is changing constantly and quickly.
If we imagine our lives as the beach, coaching is the waves: it changes you. And then you act as a wave to the world: you change it. Being a coach to the world could possibly be one of the most empowering movements you could be a part of. Could this be the right wave to catch for you?
I hear people say “I can’t afford the time or money right now,” but my thought is this: sometimes you just can’t afford not to. The next coaching CORE (ICF) Certification is next weekend March 4th and 5th! Call today to enroll and receive your pre-course work and course books, and to get ready for the first module: Philosophy of Coaching. Seats are going fast! Don’t be the one who gets washed away.
